Job Summary:

The System Administrator maintains reliable, secure and well-documented server environments across all premises and cloud infrastructure.

Main Duties:

1. Installs, configures and maintains server operating systems and application environments across development, testing, staging and production.
2. Monitors availability, utilisation, capacity and performance, and applies patches through approved change procedures.
3. Supports deployment and rollback of approved application releases.
4. Manages system identities, service accounts, certificates and permissions.
5. Implements and verifies backups, conducts recovery testing and supports high-availability and disaster-recovery arrangements.
6. Troubleshoots infrastructure incidents escalated from the Service Desk and provides log evidence during investigations.
7. Implements security configurations with the Cybersecurity Expert and coordinates hosting requirements with the Database Administrator.
8. Automates routine tasks and maintains infrastructure diagrams, configuration records and operating procedures.

Qualifications

9. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a related field.
10. At least four years' relevant systems-administration experience.
11. Demonstrated experience administering production server environments.

Added Advantage

12. Relevant Microsoft, Linux, Azure, AWS, VMware or comparable certification.
13. Experience supporting health information systems.
14. Scripting or infrastructure-automation experience.
