Reports to HR Manager – Learning & Development. The incumbent reviews existing training programs, policies and procedures and suggests enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention  to meet the changing needs of clientele, the organization, or the industry. Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.

Main Duties:

  • Identifies training needs for employees to ensure that they are adequately equipped to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Facilitates coaching and mentorship programmes  
  • Coordinates the hiring of Interns & Fellows
  • Designs and conducts training evaluations.
  • Conducts or facilitates required and recommended development programmes for staff at all levels. .
  • Collaborates with vendors and third-party training providers
  • Ensures that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to the approved training budget.
  • Contributes to the preparation and implementation of the training plan and budget.
  • Effectively manage the  training scholarship programme
  • Work closely with senior leadership and line managers to align succession strategies with organisational goals and workforce needs.
  • Coordinate the identification of high potential employees and critical roles, ensuring a structured talent pipeline is in place.
  • Oversee the execution of approved succession plans, ensuring readiness of identified successors through targeted development initiatives.
  • Track progress of succession plans , assess effectiveness, and provide regular reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide input in the development and revision of the Training Policy and other HR policies.
  • Maintain knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry.

Requirements:

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate
  • Degree in Human Resources Management, Education, or relevant equivalent field
  • 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Working knowledge of Zambian Labour Laws
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Valid practicing ZIHRM license is a must
