Project Summary:
The Person-Centered approaches to viremia: Connection, Rapport and Engagement(P-CoRE) is a mixed method, parallel cluster randomized trial that aims to use a stakeholder engagement process to develop and assess a tailored but scalable and sustainable person-centered package for addressing viremia in disproportionally affected populations in Zambia. This study will be implemented in Lusaka and Central province. The study has three aims (3) listed below:
Aim 1: Assess viral suppression and barriers to sustained viral suppression through identifying prevailing pathways to viremia (e.g., unmeasured, or documented viremia), with attention to suspected vulnerable groups (e.g., pregnant women, children adolescents, adults).
Aim 2: Co-create, through a human-centered design approach, strategies to minimize viremia among people living with HIV, in care and lost to follow-up, including tailored guidance for priority populations (e.g., pregnant, and breastfeeding women, young people, adults lost to follow-up).
Aim 3: Test the person-cantered P-CoRE package that connects service delivery to patients, builds rapport and improves engagement in care and therefore viral suppression in a parallel cluster-randomized trial, with a focus on high-priority population(s)contributing disproportionately to remaining viremia.
