Reports to Study Coordinator. The incumbent conducts assigned study procedures to recruit and retain study participants.

Main Duties:

  • Provides community and participant sensitization
  • Recruits and retains study participants
  • Obtains participant locator information
  • Follows up on participants who require interim visits or who have missed appointments
  • Performs self quality checks (QC) in a timely manner 
  • Maintains strict participant confidentiality and privacy at all times
  • Be accountable and responsible for study resources and supplies, participant locator forms, participant files among others
  • Actively participate in problem solving
  • Work as part of the study team.
  • Effectively collaborate with the community and clinic staff as necessary
  • Reports all community misconceptions about research and address any concerns in an expeditious manner to the Study Coordinator
  • Provides high quality service to participants by maintaining pleasant relationships at all times and attending to participants in a timely manner
  • Be responsive to enquiries from participants family members as required

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 certificate 
  • Certificate or better in counseling, community work or related field
  • At least 1 year experience in research and/or community education
  • Fluent in at least one local language of Nyanja or Bemba
  • Able to organize and schedule multiple work-related tasks
