Reports to the District HIV Prevention Officer and works closely with the District Data Associates and other USAID CHEKUP I staff in the districts. The Incumbent will work closely with community members who are at high risk of HIV infection and offer high impact HIV/AIDS prevention services. S/he will work in the community in close collaboration with the facility and DREAMS Centre based staff, government, and non-governmental structures (CBOs, FBOs, CHAs, NHC e.t.c.).

Main duties
  • Works closely with DHPO and other program staff in ensuring all eligible beneficiaries are provided with high impact HIV prevention services
  • Carries out routine community mappings to identify hot spots for target populations
  • Offers HIV Testing services to all eligible populations in catchment communities
  • Distributes HIV Self-tests to eligible and willing populations using both assisted and unassisted models
  • Ensures all positives identified are actively linked to care in the catchment/nearest facility
  • Ensures all positives identified are offered Partner Notification Services/Index testing services
  • Ensures that all index contacts elicited are traced and offered HTS appropriate HIV/AIDS prevention services
  • Conducts verifications with DDAs and other program staff in communities in ensuring all beneficiary records are correct and updated in all registers
  • Establishes and maintains good communication with patients and other members of staff.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Grade 12 Certificate
  • Recently certified testers will be preferred
  • Psychosocial counselling certificate
  • Experience and skill using computers, tablets and databases is highly preferred
