Job summary
The Qualitative Research Coordinator (QRC) leads and oversees all qualitative research processes within the SSRG Department, ensuring effective execution across the full research cycle—from design and training to data collection, analysis, and dissemination. The role includes supervising and training Qualitative Research Assistants (QRAs), ensuring quality assurance and control, managing data, and delivering high-quality research outputs while providing ongoing guidance to the team
Main Duties
Contributes to qualitative study design components.
Responsible for coordination of QRAs to conduct qualitative data collection that include in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, semi- structured interviews and key informant interviews with study participants across studies in the SSRG department.
Contributes to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials for QRAs.
Responsible for development of qualitative data collection tools, translations, and other relevant study documents to monitor and evaluate progress.
Assists with pre-fieldwork training of QRAs to ensure familiarity with study objectives, qualitative study tools, and all relevant study procedures
Supports study teams in pre-study sensitizations and dissemination activities
Leads the process of qualitative data transcription
Responsible for qualitative analysis and contribute to the development of qualitative analysis plans and lead the analysis process.
Supports the department as needed in disseminating qualitative research results through meetings and writing of research abstracts, reports and manuscripts as needed.
Qualifications
Degree in a relevant field such as social sciences, public health, or related discipline.
At least two (2) years’ experience in qualitative research data collection, management and analysis.
Demonstrated management and leadership experience of qualitative Research Assistants.
Strong qualitative analysis skills using analysis software such as Nvivo, Dedoose, ATLAS.ti, MS Excel or any other relevant software.
Good knowledge of Human Subject Protection.
Fluency in English, and any local languages such as Bemba, Nyanja etc
Ability to meet deadlines and working with minimal supervision
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to utilize appropriate communication styles for data collection in different settings (community, clinic, with NGO or District or Provincial or National officials).
