Matrix reporting to Communications Manager and Principal Investigator - HCWG. The incumbent will play a key role in developing and implementing strategic communication plans to increase awareness, strengthen advocacy efforts, and foster stakeholder engagement aligned with the CIDRZ mission and health priorities. The jobholder will be responsible for creating high-quality visual content that supports CIDRZ’s communication, advocacy, and programme efforts by producing compelling videos and graphic designs that reflect the organisation’s mission and work.

Main Duties:

  • Develop and implement communications strategies and plans to support CIDRZ objectives and advocacy priorities.
  • Design, produce, and disseminate communication materials including policy briefs, newsletters, social media content, reports, and multimedia products tailored for diverse audiences.
  • Manage digital platforms and social media channels to enhance visibility and engagement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Plan, shoot, and edit professional videos for CIDRZ programmes, events, and campaigns.
  • Conduct interviews and capture field footage showcasing CIDRZ’s impact.
  • Produce short documentaries, promotional clips, and social media videos.
  • Ensure all video content adheres to CIDRZ branding and messaging guidelines.
  • Design visual assets, including brochures, flyers, infographics, reports, and social media graphics.
  • Develop branding materials for campaigns and events.
  • Create templates for internal and external communications.
  • Maintain consistency in visual identity across all platforms.

Requirements:

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate
  • Degree in Multimedia Production, Graphic Design, Communications, or related field.
  • Proven experience in videography and graphic design (portfolio required).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Experience working with NGOs or health-related organisations is an asset.
  • Strong storytelling and visual communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong skills in content creation, digital and social media management, and media relations.
  • Experience in translating technical and policy information into accessible communication products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work with minimum supervision
