Project Summary:

The Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ) and Development Aid from People to People in Zambia (DAPP Zambia) have partnered to form a consortium to support the Zambia Defense Force Medical Services (DFMS) to reach sustainable control of the HIV epidemic through the lens of strategic global policies and targets. The program goal is to support the Zambian Defense Force (ZDF) to reach sustainable control of the HIV epidemic in the military by building the technical capacity of the DFMS health systems to implement a person-centered HIV prevention, care and treatment program aligned with national guidelines and PEPFAR’s Vision 2025. The objectives include; 

Job Summary:

Reports to Facility in charge administratively and Provincial Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator functionally. The incumbent will support collation and entry of patient data into electronic data collection tools in DoD supported sites.

Main Duties:

  • Enters all patient interaction data in an accurate and timely manner from all service points as guided by SOPs and associated relevant documentation.
  • Has a good understanding of all data being collected and associated performance indicators for each program area.
  • Ensures accurate and complete data is submitted on time.
  • Responds to all routine and ad-hoc data queries and verifications promptly.
  • Provides data and M&E support to health facility staff and CIDRZ in-house clinical staff.
  • Provides weekly and monthly data collection reports, highlighting challenges and success
  • Adheres strictly to data confidentiality.
  • With the help of the Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator, develop weekly and monthly data collection schedules.
  • Assists clinical staff in ensuring all registers are available and up to date; participating in the compilation of HIA2 at the facility and ensuring there is consistent reporting across all facility reports.
  • Initiates and actively participates in facility data review meetings, liaising with the M&E coordinator, and the Facility In-Charge
  • Be collaborative with facility staff ensuring facility performance and targets are shared with facility in charge and displayed at visible locations within facility.
  • Provides onsite support for all E-first activities, including training and Technical Support for all relevant facility staff.
  • Provides reports as requested by DFMS.
  • Assists in the improvement of all data collection tools by providing feedback for improvements and new feature inclusions.
  • Handles computer equipment responsibly, keeping inventory of all assigned equipment.
  • Handles patient data with utmost confidentiality and follow the set data safety procedures as specified.
  • Routinely backs up patient data as directed and submit copy on time e.g. SmartCare TDBs
  • Conducts routine data quality checks.
  • Trains and provides technical support to network and facility staff in SmartCare pro.
  • Runs Network data quality checks in SmartCare pro and DHIS2.
  • Supports the network program team with abstracts writing and narrative reports.
  • Any other duties as may arise that are requested by CIDRZ management to fulfill the needs of the organization.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Minimum Diploma in Computer Studies, Monitoring & Evaluation, Social Sciences or related fields.
  • Experience in data quality management
  • Good understanding of SmartCare and Health Management Information System (HMIS)will be an added advantage.
  • Good analytical skills
  • Skilled in District Health Information System (DHIS) and SmartCare
  • Excellent skills in excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
