Job Summary:

 Reporting to the District ART/Clinical Lead, the incumbent will provide support to USAID ZIH supported sites through coordination, implementation and monitoring of program activities in order to strengthen provision of integrated HIV/TB, MCH, NCD and combination prevention services with the overall goal to achieve USAID ZIH Project objectives. 

 

Main Duties:

  1. Supports DHOs and health facilities to implement integrated HIV/TB, MCH, NCD and Combination Biomedical prevention interventions as part of the broader health systems strengthening.
  2. Ensures that all appropriate and updated tools – registers, SOPs, protocols, guidelines, and job aides are available in all USAID ZIH supported sites in the district.
  3. Supports the implementation of effective strategies that foster linkages to- and integration of HIV/TB services within MCH, NCD and prevention service delivery and vice versa in supported sites.
  4. Ensures that performance indicators are tracked regularly and implements remedial interventions for lagging indicators.
  5. Oversees activities and performance of all HIV biomedical prevention providers, Linkage and PrEP Champions.
  6. Facilitates and supports DHOs to conduct technical support supervision and mentorship visits to health facility staff to ensure that they are knowledgeable and well updated on the current trends and developments in integrated HIV/TB, MCH, NCD and combination prevention services.
  7. Engages regularly with health facility Strategic Information staff and participates in data audits to ensure accurate and quality data is reported.
  8. Prepares sites for USAID visits – SIMS, GSM, Data Audit, TSS etc to ensure smooth progression of the activities.
  9. Participated in documentation of best practices and lessons learned in implementation of integrated HIV/TB, MCH, NCD and combination prevention services through success stories.
  10. Effectively implements the integration of MCH NCD, HIV/TB and combination prevention (PrEP, CxCa & STIs) strategies and programs to all supported sites in the district to achieve the given targets.
  11. Coordinates and effectively undertakes the provision of capacity building support programs to healthcare providers in all USAID ZIH supported health facilities in the district to impart appropriate knowledge and skills and improve uptake of integrated HIV/TB, MCH, NCD, and combination prevention programs and services.
  12. Coordinates with health facility In-Charges and program officers at DHO to implement integrated HIV/TB MCH, NCD, and combination prevention programs (PrEP, CxCa & STIs) to ensure effective and efficient health service delivery in all USAID ZIH supported sites in the district.
  13. Undertakes regular assessments of integrated HIV/TB and prevention programs needs and gaps to evaluate progress towards goals and targets and facilitate implementation of appropriate and timely interventions.
  14. Prepares budgets to facilitate the mobilisation of resources for implementation of integrated HIV/TB MCH, NCD and combination prevention programs.
  15. Conducts site level continuous quality improvement activities to achieve measurable improvements in HIV/TB/MCH/NCD and HIV prevention indicators.

 

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Diploma in Clinical Medicine, Public Health, or Nursing
  2. BSc. is added advantage.
  3. Two or more years of demonstrated experience implementing HIV/TB programs.
  4. Previous experience with and understanding of MOH health care systems at health facility and district level.   
  5. Good facilitation skills
  6. Able and willingly to work flexible hours as needed without constant or close supervision.
  7. Team building skills.
  8. Good verbal, written and presentation skills.
  9. Good computer skills, including competence in MS Office and internet/e-mail
